All are welcome to share in food, fellowship, and community in our potluck with First Congregational Church of DeKalb. Bring a favorite dish to share and enjoy an afternoon of connection and hospitality.

Washington D.C. Interest Meeting
An Interest Meeting will be held at New Hope for high school students and their parents to learn more about an exciting 4–5 day trip to Washington, D.C. The trip will include Congressional visits, a tour of the African American Museum, historical site tours, and much more. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore history, culture, and leadership!
Pastor Appreciation
Join us for the 16th Pastor Appreciation Service honoring Rev. Dr. G. Joseph Mitchell and First Lady Andira Mitchell. We will gather to celebrate and give thanks for his faithful leadership and dedicated service. The guest speaker for this special occasion will be Rev. Dr. David Seymour.

Join us for a special time of prayer and preparation as we cover students, educators, and families for the upcoming school year. Let’s start the school year strong, spiritually and academically!
Wear your favorite college, high school, or Greek apparel and show your pride!
Nevaeh Mitchell Scholarship awards will also be presented during the service.
Back To School Bash
Our annual Back to School Bash features food, music, games, and school supplies (children must be present to receive a backpack). This event is free and open to all. No registration is required.
Grand Opening: Dr. Leroy A. Mitchell Elementary School
You’re invited to celebrate the opening of this innovative new school serving 450–500 students with state-of-the-art learning spaces, including STEAM classrooms, collaborative pods, and accessible playgrounds. Join us as we honor Dr. Leroy A. Mitchell’s lasting legacy in education and leadership. Remarks, tours, and refreshments to follow.
