Juneteenth Community Celebration

Celebration of Our Freedom

The 2025 annual Juneteenth Community Celebration at Hopkins Park was another incredible success. The day was filled with love, respect, diversity, and fellowship as our community came together to honor freedom and unity.

We extend heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors, social service partners, vendors, and community members who made this year’s celebration possible.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for the sixth Juneteenth Community Celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 12–4 p.m. at Hopkins Park.

About Juneteenth

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and that those enslaved were now free. This came two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
