Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day celebrating freedom, culture, unity, and community fellowship. We were grateful to bring the community together for another meaningful celebration honoring heritage, diversity, and togetherness.
Save the date for next year! The 7th Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2027, at Lions Park. We look forward to celebrating with you again!
About Juneteenth
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and that those enslaved were now free. This came two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
